Currently planning a PhD in the area of educational technologies. Specifically I shall be examining how social media tools such as blogs, wikis, discussion forums and other social websites can enhance teaching and learning experiences.
The main areas that I so far aim to investigate are the perceptions of students and tutors, and the possibilities of integrating these tools in an environment that fosters effective teaching and learning. Data is aimed to be collected from a wide range of Universities and further education colleges, across a large quantity of different courses at different levels from undergraduate to post graduate levels.
