Alexander is an assistant professor at the University of Twente. His research mostly concerns two overlapping themes: (1) digital skills among the general and working population, and (2) digital inequality in contemporary society. His doctorate dissertation, entitled ‘Internet skills, vital assets in an information society,’ focused on inequalities caused by different levels of Internet skills among segments in the Dutch population.
