I am the Assistant Professor of Food Processing at UBC and specialize in research at the interface of chemical engineering, food science, health and nutrition. All industrial personnel are invited to contact me for any proposed research proposal with food as a component.
Prior to joining UbC, I was working as Banting Fellow on quadruple fortification of food items such as table salt (in partnership with the State of Uttar Pradesh, India), tea, coffee, milk etc. I am developing new technologies to enable the addition of iron, folic acid, vitamin B12, zinc, iodine and other micronutrients in foods without changing the sensory characteristics, while ensuring high bioavailability.
