Aurelius graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, specialising in Geography and Southeast Asian Studies in 2001. Upon graduation, his passion for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) spurred him to take a Diploma in Information Technology in 2002. In 2009, He received his Masters Degree in Arts specialising in Social Studies.
Prior to joining the education service, he worked as a web developer for a regional Non Profit Organisation office. He joined the education service in 2002 and obtained his Postgraduate Diploma in Education in 2003. He was appointed as Subject Head (Humanities) in Nan Hua High School in 2007.
