My group is interested in the identification of biomarkers, in acute leukaemias, ovarian and pancreatic cancer. We have identified cancer-testis antigens which are only found in cancer cells and immunologically protected sites such as the testis and placenta and developed DNA vaccines which target these antigens for clinical trials in collaboration with Professor Freda Stevenson, University of Southampton. We have also identified antigens which act as biomarkers for survival and disease sub-types as well as charcaterised antigens and their role in cancinogenesis.
