After 3 years with Laporte Industries, I moved to University College Cardiff to lead a research team then moved to senior position in the University’s Industry Centre to exploit innovations. After success with EU funding I established a European Office for the University. By the time I left it had an income from the EU which could be counted in millions. While in Cardiff I wrote many articles on renewable energy, hydrometallurgy, waste management and innovation and co-edited 3 books on Anaerobic Digestion and invented several patented processes.
