I am a computational researcher/developer, educator/evangelist and project lead, having worked on projects for over 25 years – 16 as a university CS professor. I work on translational stories – how we computationally support users in their efforts to explain observational data in context – most of my projects having been focused on the systems biology of complex genetic disease. But, basically, I work on problems where there is no clear cut solution and there is opportunity to revisit assumptions. My projects have spanned a broad swath of computing, from a study of software maintenance activity in a US Navy development program to defining heuristic algorithms to find dependencies in
