About
I've stepped out of a plane that was two miles above the planet at the time (thanks, Houston). A former girlfriend and I found ourselves surrounded by hot air balloons in midair when her birthday ride turned out to be a "fox-and-hound" rally competition.
Then there was the time I sent my car over a cliff. (Sorry, I wasn't in it at the time: I was over at the ATM machine.)
As a journalist I've interviewed Spalding Gray, Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson, Anna Deavere Smith, Shen Wei, Charlie Haden, Jane Comfort, James McMurtry and Nora Jones. Not to mention--please--the Rev. Fred Phelps.
In some small way, I've helped invent dance dramaturgy.
I was roughed up by a street gang in Washington
