Founded in 1971, Arnaldo Caprai continues to be the leading producer of Sagrantino di Montefalco wine. An indigenous varietal to the region, Sagrantino di Montefalco has an extensive history of over 400 years. In 1988 Marco Caprai assumed the leadership role of the winery and immediately began doing researching and experimentation in the vineyards through a partnership with the University of Milan. Decades of research and experimentation have allowed Arnaldo Caprai to develop a premium quality wine honouring the territory of Montefalco and the authenticity of the Sagrantino grape varietal.
