I currently teach Pre-K and have previously included special education students (who have autism), into my class during the school day. The co-teacher and I utilized reverse inclusion and it worked extremely well. Therefore our 2 classes which included 24 students total: 20 prek and 4 special needs had 2 certified teachers- who are both trained in regular and special populations along with 2 paraeducators. This allowed for smaller class sizes during various times of the day, language and social skills models for the special education students, and many more hands that are needed throughout the day.
