My personal focus has been on the management of information extracted from preserved and living biological collections.
Presently I am working at the Museu Nacional de História Natural, University of Lisbon, where I am studying the speciation of pine voles in the Iberian Peninsula. I am also generating genetic data from museum collections and degraded biological material.
At the Museum I am the Curator of the "Museu Bocage Tissue and DNA Collection". I am also involved on the databasing of terrestrial vertebrates collections of species listed on the Portuguese Red Data Book and fauna from the CPLP Countries in Africa, particularly Mozambique.
