A native New Yorker, Dahmein has been involved in the non-profit sector for since the age of 15. He began his career as a Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) worker for a small community-based organization in East Harlem., Dahmein seves as a director of a community center in Harlem, which served people ages 5 to 21 .He is a member of PASE (Partnership for After School Education, and has won numerous merit and achievement awards. Dahmein served as an AmeriCorps volunteer for the Stanley Isaacs Neighborhood Center and New Vision for Public Schools. He has a gift for youth development.
