Professional research scientist with advanced degrees in Atmospheric Science (Synoptic Meteorology) and Environmental Engineering seeking a position in the weather risk management industry.
The primary focus of my research is on the climatology, dynamics and predictability of extreme weather and climate. Examples of current and recent research topics include atmospheric blocking, extra-tropical transition, extreme floods, damaging winds in the Arctic, droughts and pluvials over the central United States.
The primary goal of my research is to improve our understanding of "black swans," rare catastrophic events that cause a disproportionate amount of economic losses.
