After graduating from Roy High School in 1972, I served as a Corpsman with the U.S. Marines and Naval Amphibious Forces in the Pacific at the end of the Vietnam War.
I met and married my lovely wife, Valerie Jean (Child) Davis soon after returning to Utah in 1976. After a brief courtship, we married in the Ogden LDS Temple in March of 1977. We are the parents of seven children and 13 grandchildren.
I went to school on the GI Bill, earning a BS in Business Administration from Weber State in 1979, an MBA in Business Administration from Utah State University in 1980, and a PhD in Leadership and Policy from the University of Utah.
