Joined IDB in 1998 and currently is the Director of Infrastructure Department which looks after transport, water, energy and ICT in the Bank’s 56 member countries in Asia, Africa, MENA, Europe and Latin America. During his tenure, Dr. Walid also led the introduction of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) financing in infrastructure in the Bank which grew to become an important line of business currently representing around 30% of infrastructure financing operations in Asia, MENA and Africa regions.
