I've wandered around the streets of Paris, celebrated well into the night at a Romanian wedding, rode the London Underground, watched the sun set over the Aegean, worshiped with the Patriarch in Constantinople, danced around a fire in Africa, and looked into the face of AIDs. I've done field work in northern Quebec, rode to the Grand Canyon on the back of a motorcycle and once spent several hours stranded in a Hungarian airport. Last summer I taught at a Juvenile Detention Center in Tanzania. I learned Swahili, and fell in love with East Africa...again.
