The State of Kuwait is located in a desert region on the Arabian Peninsula’s northeast shore. The country is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the south, Iraq to the north and the Persian Gulf to the east. Kuwait’s climate is dominated by long, hot, dry summers and balmy, short winters. Sandstorms are common throughout the summer, and there is occasional rainfall in winter.
The population of Kuwait was recorded in 2007 at 3,328,136. Only 1,038,598 were Kuwaiti nationals. Kuwait draws many expatriates from all over the world.
