I've been a musician for most of my life--I started on flute when I was nine years old, and during my eighth grade year, I switched to oboe, which is my main instrument now.  I'm a music performance major in my first year in college, and I would not trade it for anything in the world, even though it's definitely one of the most hectic things I've taken on.

My favorite styles of music would have to be classical and jazz, both of which I also enjoy performing.  Yes, I play jazz on the oboe--it's not entirely unheard of!  I also enjoy listening to a few Japanese songs from time to time, whether they're strictly instrumental or with lyrics.
