My name is Henk-Jan van Slooten and I have more than 12 years of experience as a board-certified surgical pathologist. My job is to diagnose patients with diseases through examination of tissue biopsies and surgical resections. Working in a large and busy practice has honed my diagnostic skills, in particular in my subspecialty areas of breast cancer, gynaeco-pathology and genito-urinary pathology. As much as I love looking at tissue slides through my light microscope, I am very much aware that the future of pathology lies in molecular diagnostics and big data analytics.
