I finally finished my Ph.D in Theatre Studies at The Ohio State University. It was a long road and full-scale employment is uncertain. Yet I don't regret it. During my 7 years as a Ph.D student I learned and became fluent in a new language and spent almost a year and a half in Peru where I met my lovely wife Gladys. It has been an adventure. We'll see what adventures are too come. I wrote my dissertation on the Peruvian scissors dance, an acrobatic indigenous dance that has become globalized. The performers now perform all over the world and the dance is featured in Peruvian rock shows, telenovelas, and tourist advertising. It is a topic that fascinates me and has brought me much joy
