I've lived by the decades, give or take a year. The 50's were on Long Island, the 60's in New City, NY. The 70's in college, Albany and Utah. California from 80-90, Oregon from 90-now. 22 years here,longer than my original NY stretch. The next decade milestone: retirement in 2020, then maybe South to Costa Rica!
