I am currently a doctoral student in Reading. Language and Literature. Additionally, I assisted in revamping the curriculum in a reading course that is a part of a bridge program for incoming freshmen; I also teach courses in Literacy Teaching Methods to undergraduates and Linguistics to graduate students.
I'm currently working with two professors at WSU to collect data regarding K-3 literacy methods from teachers in a local district. This research is funded by the MDE. I will be starting my own research within the next year relating to reading comprehension.
Prior to coming to Wayne State University, I taught first grade in Washington, D.C.
