Part of his success from politics is in part of his well-known politically powerful Vega Family of Bogota, Colombia. His Mother, Nieves Helena Vega moved to the USA in the late 1950's. She married a Military Officer by the name of Keith Allan Kuder. They later had three children; Patricia Kuder, Cherryl Kuder, and then Keith Kuder Jr. After several years of marriage an intense conflict due to religion Keith Kuder Sr. then left the family when Keith Jr. was just four years old.
