Both an elected and appointed official, Commissioner Luz Weinberg was first elected to the City of Aventura Commission on March 1st, 2005, was re-elected unopposed in 2010; and in 2013, was appointed to the Miami-Dade Expressway Authority by Governor Scott.
Luz is Vice President of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), and a national speaker in a wide range of issues. She is Director of Communications for Bouygues Construction's PortMiami Tunnel and Brickell CityCentre projects.
The Magna Cum Laude Psychology graduate of F.I.U. has received numerous awards for her extensive community service, and is also mother to three children ages 20, 19 and 13.
