Marcel Halma is an experienced communications and public affairs professional, having worked in business, industry associations and government. Before joining AkzoNobel as manager public affairs, he worked as deputy director and as manager public affairs and communications for Netbeheer Nederland, the association of Dutch energy grid operators. Marcel started his career as a Dutch diplomat, having served for almost 14 years in Brussels (EU), Geneva, New York and The Hague. His last posting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was Head of Communications for the Dutch minister for European Affairs Frans Timmermans (the current EU Commissioner).
