Since 1987, I am a Full Professor of Information Technology at the Helsinki University of Technology, which became a part of the Aalto University in 2010. During 1999-2013, I was nevertheless on leave from the position and in charge of other missions, detailed below.
At the start of 2014 I returned to my Chair to pursue work in the direction of the Industrial Internet. In alignment of this, I now have a dual appointment in the Department Computer Science and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, allowing me to link the faculty, students and capabilities of these two units and others.
