Matt Daniels was raised on welfare in Spanish Harlem by a single mother who was disabled as the result of being the victim of a serious violent crime. After attending inner city public schools in a neighborhood with one of the highest crime rates in New York City, he was awarded a full scholarship to Dartmouth College where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to earn a Public Interest Law scholarship to the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a doctorate in American Politics from Brandeis University. He is the Creator and Executive Producer of Great Americans.
