Graduate of Davison High School and UM-Flint with BS in chemistry and BA for teaching high school science. Married Marisa Young right after both of us graduated from UM-Flint in 1993. Taught high school science for three years(1year Gary, Indiana; 2yrs Alma, MI), then two years at CMU as a graduate teaching assistant. Then I returned to high school teaching in Coldwater, MI, but the ninth graders were not interested in learning despite the cool experiments I did for them. Given my academic nature, I could not understand this lack of desire to learn so I left teaching.
