Matteo Laffranchi received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering and top class Master’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Polytechnic of Turin in 2004 and 2006 respectively with a final thesis on the traction control of a 10-wheeled mobile robot. His research interests are mechanism design, compliant systems, bio-inspired robotics, humanoids and safe physical Human-Robot Interaction. Currently, he is a PhD student at the University of Sheffield and a fellow at the Italian Institute of Technology and his research activities include mechatronic design, modeling and control of compliant robotic systems.
