I am a data scientist who develops and applies knowledge discovery and data mining methods to health quality assessment. Trained as a bioinformatician, I have experience in designing and building genome annotation and comparative genomics pipelines, complex network analysis, and machine learning research. My present research focus involves creating new methods for knowledge acquisition from electronic health record data, designing a novel graph-based framework for quantifying and measuring provider collaboration based on patient outcomes, and leading an effort to facilitate research collaborations through a data set index that encodes metadata using biomedical ontologies.
