Working on "The role of kinase networks in cancer cell motility, invasion and metastasis" using high-throughput quantitative proteomics combined with bioinformatics and mathematical modelling. Using filtered data from proteomics and extensive literature data mining, a network of regulated proteins responsible for cancer cell invasiveness was built and a boolean network mathematical model was used to predict the crucial nodes in the network. The results were validated via extensive experiments measuring biochemical and cell biological properties of invasive cell lines.
