I have a background in Veterinary medicine and masters & Ph.D. in Infectious disease Microbiology and Immunology. I received my masters and doctorate at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA and was trained in Dr. N. Sriranganathan's labortaory. I worked extensively with biosafety-level-3 (BSL3) bacterial pathogens. My masters thesis was focussed on understanding of the role of siderophores and sugars in the pathogenesis of Brucella spp. The focus of my doctoral research was to develop an effective therapeutic and immunotherpeutic against Brucella melitensis infection.
