I am Professor in computational statistics. I do research and teach broadly in the areas of statistics, probability theory, biostatistics, and in applied areas such as biology and medicine.
I develop models and methods for data analysis, prediction and classification, that scale well with data size and the number of variables. One particular interest is in large dynamical systems, as found in systems biology and the brain, and I develop statistical methodology to learn such systems from data. This involves theory, algorithms, implementations and practical applications on data.
I am also involved in projects on molecular diagnostics, DNA- and RNA models, epigenetics, and genomic organi...
