PAARL is an association of academic and research librarians in the Philippines that supports scholarly research and formal education in the tertiary level, and upholds the profession of librarianship in the country. Its principal mission is to articulate the concerns of academic and research librarians and their institutions, and to influence information policy development affecting the future of academic and research libraries. Since 1973, it has provided leadership in the development and growth of library and information services in the country.
