About
Born in Bangor Maine, Feb 13, 1834. Worked as a lumberjack at lumber camps across the nation. Spent a good deal of time in Minnesota working the lumbercamps with my side kick, Babe the Blue Ox. The Bemidji Rotarians honored my contributions to the logging industry by erecting a statue of myself at the Lake Bemidji waterfront for the 1937 Winter Water Carnival. After a statue of Babe the Blue Ox traveled the parade circuit for a couple years, he was entombed next to me in 1939. We have steadfastlly remained in place ever since. Our favorite pastime is to stand very still with the countless visitors who come to have their picture taken with us. Many who came as children return as adults
