Prof. Dr. Raad Z. Homod was born in Basra, Iraq. He received a B.Sc. degree from Basra University, Basra, Iraq, in 1991, and an M.Sc. degree from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, both in mechanical engineering (with distinction). He received a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Tenaga Nasional, Kajang, Malaysia. He worked in the HVAC system engineering industries from 1992–2009. His research interests include nonlinear systems analysis, estimation, optimal control, process control, neural networks, HVAC systems, building models, and modelling sensors with Fuzzy logic.
