About
My true passion lies in using finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation programs to achieve graphical verification of theoretically based calculations. Working with the Solidworks Simulation finite element program on a daily basis, I perform stress and displacement analysis, modal analysis, dynamic analysis, fatigue analysis, and welded and bolted joint analysis on gears, gearbox housings, and other similar structures. Other simulation programs I routinely use include XLRotor for rotordynamics and calculation of critical speeds and mode shapes of shafts, Maple, and MapleSIM for dynamic analysis, and KiSSoft for bolted joints and gear ratings. I then write and communicate these...
