Before starting his own business as consultant for industrial laser material processing, Dr. Rolf Klein was working in the Clearweld group of Gentex Corporation as an Product Application Engineer to provide guidance and technical support to users of the Clearweld process for laser welding plastics. Prior to joining Gentex in April 2005, he held senior positions with a number of German laser companies, working for R&D of metal processing, system development as well as polymer welding with laser.He worked at the Fraunhofer ILT, involved in R&D for laser processing polymers. He was educated at the University of Darmstadt and received his PhD in mechanical engineering from RWTH, Aachen.
