I am an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Northwest Vista College (NVC) and at Texas Woman's University (TWU). Before arriving at NVC and TWU, I taught full time at Texas A&M University-Kingsville and at TWU. I earned my BA in Foreign Languages with a Minor in Psychology at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee. My MA is in Romance Languages with a Minor in Linguistics and my Ph.D. is in Spanish Literature with a Minor in Women's Studies; both postgraduate degrees were earned at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. My research focuses on Hispanic women writers and on how the sex/gender system relates to power. I teach different levels of Spanish, and Women Studies courses at TWU and
