I am Shadrack Mashaba, a prospective teacher currently in my third year of a teaching course at the University of Johannesburg. I am someone who is open-minded and also believes that education, as Freire notes, has the potential to both oppress and liberate. Which becomes a drive for me to strive to become a teacher that fosters for emancipatory education. A teacher that acknowledges that the process of education requires equal participation from both the teacher and students as well the aspect of the affective domain for it to be successful.
