Steve Wakefield is the External Relations Directof for the NIH-sponsored HIV Vaccine Trials Network with the leadership group at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle Washington. Wakefield is also founder of The Legacy Project, HVTN’s program to increase racial and ethnic population involvement in trials. Wakefield currently serves on the board of the Pride Foundation and the AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition (AVAC). Professional linkages are enhances through service on the organizing committees for CROI and the AIDS Vaccines annual meetings.
