Sumit is currently working at Merisis Advisors. Prior to Merisis, he was working as a senior financial analyst at a financial services firm. He graduated from BITS Pilani with an MSc (Hons) in Physics and BE (Hons) in Civil Engineering. While at BITS, Sumit was a member of the Aakash Ganga project where he applied remote sensing and geographical information systems techniques on satellite imagery coupled with evolutionary algorithms to develop an innovative domestic rainwater harvesting system that alleviates the perennial scarcity of drinking water in rural villages and created an economic model to assess the sustainability of the project.
