I am a graduate student at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.  Currently, I am working on induction and termination of diapause in the Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium). Trogoderma granarium (khapra beetle) is an important pest of stored grains. Due to its potential economic importance, it is listed as a quarantine insect in Canada. Diapause is a period of arrested development in insects; understanding it is important for developing effective control strategies.
