Orbea was founded in 1840 as a family business dedicated to the manufacture of guns. In 1930 Orbea starts with the design and manufacture of bicycles. Orbea became a Coop. in 1965.
In 1998 began the process of internationalization of Orbea with a clear objective: to become a global brand, user reference for outdoor activities.
Orbea, S.Coop. is now part of Mondragon Corporation, a cooperative group with over 74000 workers (85% of those workers are cooperative members).
