The chair is the executive officer of the department and reports to and advises the provost and deans regarding his/her department. The chair provides leadership and direction in the planning, development, and delivery of academic programs, promotes excellence in teaching, scholarly productivity, and service. The chair directs and coordinates the academic, operational, personnel, budgetary, and student-oriented activities of his/her academic department.
