I am home on worker's compensation recovering from a viscious patient attack and suffering from post-concussion syndrome and post-traumatic stress syndrome. After 22 months after the assault, my assailant pled guilty and received a plea-bargain of one year. He was remanded to the MHFPC for the a civil committment process. Waiting for payment on his financial restitution judgment due 06/01/11 and still not received. However, after 2.6 months (and 22 doctors later), I was found eligible for my Early Retirement/Disability from the New York State Local Retirement System (NYSLRS.) Now the calculations of my retirement entitlement after 25 years of NYS service begins...No closure yet!
