PETITION TO The Federal Legislative Assembly of Canada Whereas the current climate crisis poses a threat to the heath, welfare, water and food security of the Global community as verified by the World Bank and the UN Whereas drought-affected areas would increase from 15.4% of global cropland today, to around 44% by 2100 even if current climate obligations are met fully according to the World Bank Whereas the World bank states early, cooperative, international actions can prevent 4 degree temp rise by 2100 Whereas Canada's per capita greenhouse gas emissions are some of the highest in the industrialized world WE the undersigned residents of Canada petition the Federal Legislative Assembly to initiate a National Energy Strategy that will dramatically reduce Canada's fossil fuel dependency and associated carbon emissions.
