I spent most of my adult years away from my hometown, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. After pre-university and undergraduate studies in Construction Technology in Sydney, Australia, and two years in Hull, England, I returned to Kuala Lumpur in 1986, but joined the Press instead of the construction industry. This formed the basis of much of what I do today. In 1990, I came to Berlin, and two years later, met my partner, Hanno Baethe, a videomaker. We have been working together since then, making independent documentary-based videos.
