At the onset of a pending agricultural crisis in 2003, a group of enterprising individuals came together to establish the Agricultural Sector Alliance of the Philippines or AGAP in order to create a cohesive body that can lobby for government intervention and public awareness. Initial stakeholders initially conceptualized an alliance, which eventually evolved into a potent force championing the protection and promotion the welfare of the agricultural sector.
