I am a lifelong Mainer, born in Waterville, Maine in a family of mill workers, farmers and tinkerers. I'm an incurable optimist who has devoted much of my adult life to making Maine a better place. I'm a high school dropout with a masters degree from Harvard. I've loaded tractor trailers, built houses, dismantled machinery in a mill moving south, started three businesses, built neighborhood and statewide non-profits and run too many campaigns.
I believe politics has to work again for the rest of us. I trust in the Maine tradition of frugality and that our potential is unlimited.
